FNT2T visits Tootinaowaziibeeng on a beautiful mid September day

Treaty 2 Territory – It was a beautiful late summer day while we travel within the Treaty 2 Territory.  First Nations in Treaty 2 Territory (FNT2T) continues to be busy with uniting of local Nations within the territory.

As you may be aware, the Treaty 2 Territory is one of the unique Treaty territories within Treaty 1-11.   Treaty 2 Territory (T2T) has nine (9) Nations who made Treaty 2 in 1871 and fifteen (15) other local Nations (First Nations) located within the territory. No other treaty in Canada has this mixture of historical circumstances.

Today we traveled to Tootinaowaziibeeng Treaty Reserve.  We met with their leaders and administration staff. A presentation was made about FNT2T and the steps the new Nation-based Treaty-based government is developing through Councils, Circles and Regional Services. The Spirt and Intent of the Treaty continues to be discussed while discussing infrastructure, programs and services.
